This one’s for the Dogs

Bird Dog 100 is our OG..Original Gravel Roll event, showcasing the challenging roads around Burke County, GA. This route is by far the most accessible and fun to ride, a great starting point for rural gravel. The wide variety of road conditions will challenge the most experienced riders. Just keep pedaling and you'll make it through each course feature.

Is the course kooky or creative?

The Bird Dog features the largest assortment of road surfaces you’ll ever ride in a single day. You’ll experience from hard packed red clay, orange soil, sand sections, sand/gravel mix, pavement, tar & chip, chip seal and of course good ole regular gravel mixed in for good measure and probably a few more we don’t know how to categorize.

  • Medical support: We manage our own team of on-course medical support in order to reduce the load on rural EMS resources.

Superbly-signed course: We go overboard on course signage to make sure everybody can make it to the finish line party.

Timed-segment race format: Our races include 1-3 timed segments, challenging riders over our favorite course sections.

Fully-stocked aid stations: Each course will have 2-4 aid stations fully stocked with fresh fruit, soft drinks, sports hydration, snacks, chairs, and porta-potties in the middle of nowhere.

Mechanical and SAG support: Our roving support vehicles carry mechanical assistance in addition to medical support. No matter what happens on-course, we’ve got you covered.

Cuban Island Cafe of Bonaire, Georgia is confirmed and will be on-site serving up food for purchase post race. We are continuing to work on a possible food truck festival with the city in conjunction with the race. Get some food and hang out for our raffles and podiums throughout the afternoon.

  • Think of this as race insurance. If you need to cancel your race weekend, this will give you the option to receive a full refund or transfer the full value of this race to a future race. If you think you might not make it, or want to transfer or refund, you must do so 48 hours before race start.

  • Get ready for some fun. Our races will maximize your smiles-per-mile with a timed-segment race format.

Rather than embracing the sufferfest of other races, we’re leaning into the party on two wheels. Ride with friends across each transfer stage, then drop the hammer through the finish of each timed segment. Regroup at the finish and ride together to the next segment.

Each course will contain up to three timed segments, covering up to 50% of the course distance.

  • Usually we make it available a week beforehand. It's not that we are trying to keep it a big secret but often times we are refining the route, or there are washouts, controlled burns (which you think they'd post that...) or even timber being pulled which we don't always get notified about. Last year for Pecan Shaker we released the route a month in advance and then had several changes between then and race day and it created a lot of confusion. We also have a lot of private roads and field cuts we don't want people trespassing on. If you have specific questions feel free to reach out to us, if you want a feel for the race, be sure to look at our photos from last year!
